Elimination of Licensing Fees– SB 6038 incorporated the request for no licensing fees for early learning programs and added it to this bill, which also temporarily expands the business and occupation tax exemption. It is waiting to get pulled onto the House Floor.
Expanding Fingerprinting Locations– SB 5774 was passed through both Houses! This is a step towards more timely background checks for new staff members.
CCDEI clock hour bill– HB 1377 was passed off the Senate Floor. Their version differed from the one passed in the House, so the Senate version now goes to the House for them to concur.
EANS I– The two budgets, House and Senate, have not been reconciled. The House budget is $504 short. It seems this was a miscommunication between the budget writers. WFIS continues to advocate for the total $1,487,365 in the final supplemental budget.
Sine Die (last day of regular session) for the 2024 Legislative Session is next Thursday, March 7.
