The Early Learning Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a Department of Early Learning agency committee that meets six times a year and is comprised of early learning stakeholders including teachers, advocacy organizations, DEL staff, and Legislators. Some of the topics on the table are Standards Alignment, which is the alignment of the early learning WACs; licensing related to Early Achievers; and ECAEP expansion.
This is the Department of Early Learning’s 10th year and with Ross Hunter now at the helm, the tenor of the department has gone from punitive to resourceful. WFIS works closely with the DEL officials as their influence extends into K-12 and directly impacts the lives of our students and our programs.
Next ELAC meeting is October 4, 2016.
