Private school leaders should expect outreach from the Department of Ecology regarding air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Building owners with at least 50 pounds of refrigerant with a GWP of 150 or greater must repair all leaks, inspect regularly, and register and report with Ecology.
The refrigerant level should be on the equipment tag on each piece of equipment. Details on the DOE Refrigerant Management Program can be found here.
