Washington is developing a statewide digital transcript system, which, with support from a pilot grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, would “seamlessly” share student records with higher education institutions. This effort aims to:
- Eliminate barriers to transcript access for students and families
- Reduce workload for counselors and admissions staff
- Enable real-time responsiveness to student interest in post-secondary opportunities
WFIS needs your input to ensure private school concerns or support are represented in the initial planning conversations. State leaders from K-12 and higher education will discuss needs, identify barriers, and define the next steps toward a statewide transcript exchange.
