WFIS has invited Debbie Groff, DCYF’s new Child Care Deputy Senior Administrator, to meet with our program directors on October 5. Her role has the capacity to shift the environment and relationships in ways that will support providers to enhance their programs and stay in the field.

There have been ten years of concern and feedback from all sectors of the early learning industry about the Licensing Department at DCYF, yet very little has changed. There are alarming inconsistencies and long wait times on return communication, which create a general animosity towards the Licensing Department. WFIS has been working on informal exit interviews to determine why so many talented directors and teachers are leaving this work, and most cite frustration and exhaustion caused by the licensing department.

We want to build strong relationships with the early learning agency and honor the hard work of the people in the field. We look forward to an engaging conversation.
