WFIS is asking school leaders to remind parents and students of the importance of filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA) and the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA). By not filling out one of these forms, our private school students are potentially missing out on significant financial aid. These are powerful tools for unlocking benefits, but the deadline to file is approaching on June 30.

Private school counselors are an important resource for graduating students. Ask them to remind your families that the student and the parent/guardian both have a role in filling out the form. It takes patience to do the form, but it is worth it. College and university admissions officers are available to support students and families when filing the form.

The Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) provides access to state student aid funding for students who do not qualify for federal student aid based on immigration status or who are undocumented.

Help our students maximize the financial support they need and deserve!
