Private schools in Washington attended Thursday’s webinar alongside other schools from across the US to learn about resources available through FEMA’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP). While the 2025 NSGP application for WA State closed on August 31, the 2026 window is expected to open in February. Nonprofit schools may apply for up to $200,000 per building, for a maximum of three buildings, with no local match required. This FEMA grant would make your school a recipient of federal funds.

Critical Response Group (CRG)

Austin Sprague, COO of Critical Response Group, presented on Collaborative Response Graphics—detailed campus maps created with military-derived grid techniques. CRG is the nation’s largest provider of indoor mapping data, operating in 44 states. Their maps allow schools, police, fire, EMS, and 911 to use a single, standardized reference during emergencies. Maps highlight key safety assets such as AEDs, trauma kits, shutoffs, and access points. CRG’s mapping services typically cost $4,000–$5,000 per campus, with the option to add updates at $500–$600. Integration requires no new software, and CRG will connect your school map directly to the systems already used by first responders.

CRG will work with your school whether or not you apply for the grant.
