Last week, Sarah Sutton from NPIP joined the WFIS Board luncheon and provided insights on property and sexual abuse issues in public and private schools. She highlighted the importance of reporting incidents, even minor ones, and implementing preventative measures. She also stressed the need for maintaining accurate property valuations to avoid insurance complications due to inflation. Sarah also emphasized the need to document safety precautions, trainings, expert consultations, and practices while over-communicating these efforts in writing with your insurance providers. The group discussed leveraging safety initiatives for insurance credits and reinforced the importance of community engagement before content delivery.  For greater insight, read this Market Challenges breakdown.

At this Tuesday’s K12 Zoom, WFIS hosted Jim Hunt, originally from Bell-Anderson Insurance and now Acrisure, who answered questions about why insurance rates have increased, whether schools will be able to find coverage with all of the natural disasters looming, and how Acrisure is working to support schools. Jim has been a long-term partner of WFIS, and we thank him for his continued support of private schools.
