Teacher’s Assistant – Special Education and Behavior Support

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Teacher’s Assistant for a hybrid role that combines educational instruction and behavioral support. In this unique position, you will have the opportunity to lead classroom instruction and directly impact the learning and development of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction in the classroom, implementing lesson plans and activities tailored to each student’s needs.
Collaborate with behavioral & educational specialists, therapists, and other support staff to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
Assist in the development and execution of individualized education and behavior plans.
Use evidence-based strategies to manage challenging behaviors and encourage positive outcomes.
Monitor and assess student progress, making necessary adjustments to ensure success.
Build strong, supportive relationships with students, fostering a nurturing and structured environment.
Qualifications:
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, special education, or a related field.
Required: General education teaching certification.
Required: At least two years of experience in a behavioral, residential, or EBD (Emotional and Behavioral Disorders) classroom setting.
Strong understanding of behavioral intervention strategies and experience working with children with ASD, ADHD, ODD, PDA, or other cognitive disorders.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
