Position Description:
Epiphany School seeks a full-time Instructional Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year for our Lower School division, supporting a pre-kindergarten classroom. The ideal Instructional Assistant candidate will work in collaboration with the lead teachers and specialists with a diverse range of services of daily tasks and teaching. This includes assisting with delivering the curriculum, managing supplies and resources, working with the students, and other activities to support teaching and learning in the homeroom and specialist classrooms. This position will also participate in robust professional learning and school community events.
This is a non-exempt, full-time, academic year position. Work hours are typically Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00am – 4:00pm and 8:00am – 5:00pm on Wednesdays to attend staff meetings. Expected start date is August 22, 2024, to attend new employee orientation, first day of school is September 3rd, 2024 and expected end date is June 17th, 2025.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher and specialist teachers on planning and teaching the curriculum
- Work with students as a class, small group, and individually
- Assist in classroom management
- Act as classroom lead when lead teacher is not present; Teach students directly as a co-teacher and during re-teaching/enrichment periods
- Collaborate with teaching team on planning, curriculum and themes for program alignment
- Collaborate with teams in our Professional Learning Community
- Utilize equitable practices that support all learners
- Prepare and restore classroom and supplies
- Support student assessment process
- Help classroom teachers and learning specialists assess individual students’ needs
- Assist with coordination and monitoring of teaching activities, including field trips and on-site experiences
- May be requested to join lead teacher during conferences
Secondary Responsibilities
- Provide lunch and recess coverage
- Participate in professional learning opportunities at Epiphany School and in the greater education community as schedule allows
- Participate in school admission, development, and community events as schedule allows
- Participate in committees and provide input on school decisions as able
Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Epiphany School seeks candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to collaboration and lifelong learning, as well as an expertise in best practices in elementary education
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field(s) or a combination of education and experience preferred
- Teaching Certification and endorsement in grade or field preferred
- Experience teaching or working with children in PreK-5, with third grade preferred
- Excellent oral, written, and presentational communication skills in the English language
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Experience and comfort working in a Microsoft environment including MS Office
- Must be collaborative, proactive, resourceful, and organized
- Ability to multi-task and to maintain professionalism in a creative and changing environment
- Commitment to supporting a diverse community of learners
- Ability to deal with emergencies
- Ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail and striving to build efficiencies

Compensation & Benefits:
The starting salary range for this role is between $43,988 – $54,855, according to Epiphany School’s instructional assistant pay scale and based on the years of experience. When determining an initial offer, we carefully consider these factors and will ask the intended hire for documentation to verify the correct pay level.
