Position Description:
Epiphany School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Exploration Lab Specialist Teacher to join our specialist team for one academic year beginning in August 2024. This position will create and implement engaging curriculum across upper division grade levels (3rd – 5th) and work with our pre-kindergarten students on early childhood creative play. This role is responsible for fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. As an enrichment teacher, this role plays a pivotal role in expanding students’ knowledge beyond the traditional classroom setting through project-based learning, exploration activities, game theory, and logic puzzles.
The individual who will be successful in this role will uphold Epiphany School values, bring a growth mindset with a wide range of knowledge and experience in designing and delivering enriching lessons that encourage students to explore, experiment, and express ideas, and contribute to strong and positive collaboration within a team.
This is a part-time, exempt, academic one-year position, reporting to the Upper Division Head.
Work Schedule:
Epiphany School operates on a 6-day color cycle. This role would work on orange, green, and purple days from 8:00am – 4:00pm during the academic year, with a start of August 22, 2024, and an end of June 17th, 2025. When a work day lands on a Wednesday, this role will work until 5:00pm to attend all staff and/or faculty meetings when required.
Primary Exploration Lab Specialist Teacher Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver enriching lessons and activities that align with the school’s curriculum objectives and educational standards.
- Integrate project-based learning techniques to encourage hands-on exploration and deepen students’ understanding of core concepts.
- Incorporate game theory principles and logic puzzles into lessons to promote problem-solving skills and strategic thinking.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to complement and enhance core curriculum lessons with enrichment activities.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual growth and development.
- Organize and supervise enrichment projects, field trips, and other experiential learning opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student achievements, challenges, and overall progress.

- Assess student progress and maintain effective record keeping procedures
- Attend grade-level and faculty meetings as scheduled
- Provide recess supervision as scheduled
- Participate in the school community, including professional learning, service learning, and community events
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor
Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Teaching certificate and endorsement in elementary education.
- A minimum of 5+ years of elementary or middle school classroom teaching experience
- Strong understanding of project-based learning methodologies, game theory, and logic puzzles.
- Commitment to school mission, vision, and values and to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Enthusiasm for exploring new teaching strategies and integrating technology into the classroom.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing innovative and engaging educational programs.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to handle competing priorities and maintain professionalism, attention to detail, and process improvement strategies in a creative and changing environment
- Excellent oral, written, and presentational skills in the English language; fluency in additional languages a plus
- Computer savvy in Windows environment, including MSFT Suite programs
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification (not required at time of application – new hires will have time to complete if needed)
Compensation & Benefits:
The pro-rated part-time salary rate range for this role is between $34,377 and $61,430 based on years of experience, education, and professional development credits according to our school’s Faculty Compensation System pay scale. When determining an initial offer, we carefully consider these factors and will ask the intended hire for documentation to verify the correct pay lane and step.
