JOB TITLE:  Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs

REPORTS TO: Director of Auxiliary Programs

POSITION STATUS: Full-Time, salaried, exempt employee. Yearlong position.

SCHEDULE: 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday. Occasional need to work varied hours including evenings and some weekends as necessary. Daily hours may vary but generally from 9:00-5:30 or from 10:00-6:30. The position is open immediately.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs supports the Director of Auxiliary Programs with the administration, management and supervision of Auxiliary Programs, including Extended Day and Summer Programs, Adult French, Athletics, and High School Advanced French programming. The Assistant Director assumes the responsibility to manage assigned programs with the oversight and collaboration of the Director. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented professionals with interest or experience in youth development, after-school programs and/or summer programs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The principle responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

●      Design and implement Summer Programs at FASPS, including field trip planning, supply orders, staff recruitment and other logistics organization

●      Coordinate Adult French classes with the Alliance Française and support the Director in the development of these programs in alignment with the mission of the school

●      Support the Director in the design and implementation of school-break camps

●      Assist the Director with general administrative and clerical duties, including sitting at the front desk as it supports Auxiliary Programs or the general function of the school

●      Collaborate with the Director of Communications and Marketing to promote Program marketing, and parent communication

●      Be an active leader in developing positive staff and program participant culture

●      Collect and review registrations and manage the entry of registration data into the database

●      Answer parent emails and phone calls in a courteous and professional manner, maintain appropriate communication standards and documentation

●      Manage and track program attendance for safety and billing purposes

●      Data entry for billing purposes

●      Order and maintain inventory for all program supplies including playground equipment and snack

●      Substitute for Extended Day staff during the day or after school as needed

●      Undertake other program related and administrative tasks as assigned by the Director

●      Understand and support FASPS’ mission, vision, and core values and promote a positive image of the school

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
●      Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

●      Excellent written and verbal communication skills, detail-oriented

●      Previous experience working with children in a school or child-care setting

●      Previous project management experience (or an equivalent) is a strong plus, but is not required

●      Computer competent with extensive knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point and other programs

●      Proficiency in French (listening, writing, and speaking) strongly preferred but is not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
●      Occasionally lift – up to 20 pounds

●      Generally works in standard office conditions and environment, but may also work in the classroom and outside on the playground

●      May work at desk and computer for extended periods of time

●      May stand for extended periods of time

 

THE FOLLOWING TRAINING IS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
if not current, will be done on the at the school’s expense

·       WA State Food Handler’s Permit

·       Negative TB Test

·       MMR Vaccination certificate or valid exemption from MMR vaccination

·       First-Aid/CPR

·       HIV/Blood borne Pathogens

·       COVID-19 vaccination certification or valid exemption from COVID-19 vaccination

·       STARS 30-hour Child Care Basics Course (within first 6 months of hire)
