Reports To: Facilities, Office and Transportation Director & Covid-19 site Coordinator

Work Location: Mercer Island, Washington State

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides professional, high quality, and customer-focus services at the Front Desk/Reception area at the French American School of Puget Sound. In addition, this position provides administrative support based on the needs of the Office, Facilities and Transportation Department. As the first person to welcome employees and all other constituents, a friendly and poised attitude is a must. This is a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and quick problem-solving skills are valuable skills to have.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
• Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to speak and understand the French language is a plus
• Experience working in an independent school environment is preferred

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Answer incoming phone calls in a courteous and professional manner. Transfer and relay messages to staff
• Health check visitors (to be determined)
• Handle small and large mailings
• Keep the Front Desk neat and organized to provide a welcoming and professional environment to our families as well as any visitors to the school
• Act as a “School nurse” when the Health and Safety Aide is not on campus, and administer first aid if necessary
• Accept and sign for packages addressed to FASPS
• Develop and ensure maintenance of well-organized files
• Prepare various documents as requested by supervisor
• Assist in tracking daily student attendance
• Facilitate bus and/or afterschool check in and check out
• Provide event support as needed
• Help administration during drop off and pick up duties (to be determined)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
• Generally work in standard office conditions and environment
• Work at desk and computer for extended period of times

The position is now. Work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
