FASPS is currently recruiting a Soccer Coach for the 2022 Fall soccer season.  The season begins Wednesday, August 31st, and concludes Thursday, November 4th.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Soccer Coaches, reporting to the Athletic Coordinator and Director of Auxiliary Programs, will join an athletics program that includes four teams, including age groups from 5-14.  The teams consist of: Grade K-1 (co-ed), Grade 2-3 (co-ed), Grade 4-5 (co-ed), Grade 6-8 (co-ed).  The responsibilities for this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Compliance with all FASPS, CYO, and CMSL policies and procedures
  • Supervision and instruction of Middle School soccer student-athletes during all team activities
  • Supervision and support of the Lower School teams during some practices and games
  • Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel
  • Attendance at required soccer FASPS, CYO, and CMSL meetings. Required pre-season coach’s meetings for the 2022 Season are Wednesday August 31st and Tuesday September 13th
  • Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes
  • Developing meaningful practice plans that will keep the student-athletes active and engaged during practice
  • Demonstrate positive characteristics and serve as a role model for the student-athletes
  • Work with the Athletic Coordinator and assistant coaches in all necessary capacities; and
  • Recruitment of parent involvement in FASPS soccer
  • Provide transportation for students to/from practices and competitions using FASPS bus vehicles – non-CDL bus training will be provided by the school at no cost to employee.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates must be 18 years of age and be available for all practices (2 weekdays to be announced the end of July) and competitions, including Saturdays, during their coaching season.  Experience coaching soccer at the elementary/youth is strongly preferred, but not required.  Fluency in French is desired, but not required.  Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and must possess or obtain prior to the start of their season current First Aid and CPR certification. Candidates must pass a drug/alcohol screening and on-going random test (information provided by FASPS) pertaining to driving the school bus.
