JOB SUMMARY

To teach multiple sections of Science (AP Psychology, Anatomy & Physiology)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  Bachelor’s degree in Science, Master’s degree preferred
  Washington State teaching certificate or the ability to obtain one
  Skill in applying technology in education
  Recent classroom experience, high school teaching background preferred
  Experience with lab based courses

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  Skill and ability to teach a broad range of levels of science, including Advanced Placement classes and College level courses
  Energetic, empathetic, and innovative
  Ability to be flexible and resourceful
  Desire to work with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds
  Ability to create and implement authentic assessments (formative and summative)
  Ability to use technology as a tool in the classroom
  Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of high school students in a

multicultural setting
  Possess the knowledge and skills to develop positive interpersonal relationships
  Good organization and management skills
  Ability to meet individual student needs in the development of department goals and

restructuring of the curriculum
  Desire to collaborate with colleagues including team teaching and professional learning

communities
