Located just minutes from Microsoft in Kirkland, Les Lilas French Bilingual Community School
welcomes children from the age of pre-K to 5th on a campus filled with inspiring child-centered
learning spaces.
Les Lilas is a warm little school where the notions of conviviality, fun to learn and openness to others
are ubiquitous in everyday life.
We are seeking candidates who understand and appreciate the power of childhood and the
possibilities of children as unique individuals learning in a social context. We hire assistant teachers
committed to collaborative teaching within a vibrant adult learning community.
Les Lilas opened its doors in September 2015 to children aged 3 to 6 years with new classes opening
each year. The end of a child’s schooling at Les Lilas will have followed the French National Education

Les Lilas is looking for an English Teacher for our preschool, lower elementary, and upper elementary
levels who is passionate about bilingual education. Our teachers exhibit enthusiasm, a caring attitude,
and a love of learning.
Montessori certification and/or a Washington State Teaching certificate is strongly preferred. If not
currently certified, the applicant must be enrolled in or willing to enroll in a Montessori training
Les Lilas French Bilingual Community School’s mission is to provide children with a strong academic
foundation and foster a lifelong joy of learning through a dual French/Montessori curriculum.

-Ability to work individually and as a member of a team
-Excitement for teaching and supporting children ages 3-9 years old
-An appreciation for the complexity and uniqueness of children’s developmental timetables
-Proactive and takes initiative
-Flexibility and ability to adapt
-Exhibit leadership and strong problem-solving skills
-Multi-tasking abilities a must
-French Fluency desired, but not necessary
-Must be able to lift 30 pounds (as needed)
-Occasional days/weekends needed, outside of normal shift
-Position is for the school year, (September through June)
-Summer hours may be available as well (for additional compensation)
-CPR/First Aid Certification
-Background Check through Department of Children, Youth and Families (including fingerprinting)
-Complete STARS training and all MERIT requirements met
-Records of receiving or having antibodies for measles required, along with a clear Tuberculosis
screening test
