Job Title: Middle School Technology

Seattle Country Day School (SCDS) is an independent school that serves more than 400 gifted students, grades K–8, on a 2.4-acre campus on the north slope of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, Washington.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and a knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, programming, digital/video production, and Maker Movement activities. In addition, the candidate should have experience designing creative problem-solving and inquiry-based lessons.


The middle school technology teacher will be a member of the middle school faculty and report to the Middle School Head. Technology at Seattle Country Day School is an active, project-based process. The technology teacher must be able to develop and guide students through inquiry-based projects with the goal of fostering creative problem solving and design thinking. The technology teacher must also understand the ethical possibilities and pitfalls of technology, and nurture ethical thinking and behavior in each student. The teacher will work closely with other teachers and content-area specialists.

Teacher responsibilities also include overseeing an advisory, participation in class outings and grade-level trips, both domestic and international, as well as attendance at faculty and department-level meetings.

This position is full-time.
