Position Available: K-1 Mandarin Teacher, part-time, start August 2021

The successful candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in education, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. Candidates must have at least 3 years of classroom teaching experience and demonstrate verbal and written fluency and mastery of the language. Candidates must be knowledgeable with the developmental needs of early childhood, kindergarten through first grade. Experience implementing curriculum, integrating local resources into curriculum, and collaboration across subject areas required. Academic or professional experience in gifted education, creative problem-solving, and inquiry-based education is preferred.
The Mandarin teacher will be a member of the lower school faculty and report to the lower school division head. This position is ideal for the dynamic and knowledgeable teacher. The teacher will work closely with homeroom teachers and other content area specialists. Teacher responsibilities also include participation in class outings as well as attendance at faculty and department/grade level meetings.
This position is a part-time position. Salary is negotiable, depending on qualifications.
