Newly updated L&I Requirements & Guidance for Preventing COVID-19 provides clarity for April 3 – May 11 and policy after May 11:
- Public Health Emergency Reporting & Notification (HELSA) requirements and Voluntary Use of PPE expire on May 11, 2023.
- COVID-19 will remain a recognized respiratory hazard in the workplace after May 11, 2023. Employees who have tested positive or are symptomatic for COVID-19 must be out of the workplace for at least five days or implement effective controls.
- COVID-19 hazards must be addressed in the school Accident Prevention Program and the equivalent safety portion of your employee handbook.
