Schools should review the L&I Requirements and Guidance for Preventing COVID-19, with particular acknowledgment of:

Reporting COVID Outbreaks by the school is still required, but the state currently outlines no other notification requirements.

  • FIVE or more confirmed or suspected cases among a cohort in 7 days OR
  • Multiple COVID cases from positive tests comprising at least 20% of a cohort (students, teachers, or staff within a specified core group) within seven days.
  • Outbreaks must be reported to your local health department.
