Burgeoning young adults have lots they’re juggling so making registering to vote easy is a big step toward building confidence with their participation in our democracy.  Washington State Voter Registration Guidelines may feel cumbersome but new tools like the VoteWA.gov app and the Registration QR Code below streamline the process for students. Across the state history and social studies teachers will be spearheading classroom youth voter registration projects October 3-7 for National Voter Education Week. The Bush School is reaching out to student clubs interested in leading the voter registration effort through lunchroom campaigns or their history classes.

The Civics Center offers free digital flyers, posters and graphics in many modern designs. With a simple email request form, they can customize any for a state, city, or school to ask students to register to vote, let them share on their phones or print & post in their schools. 

Washington State Dates & Deadlines:
  • October 21 Start of 18-day voting period (through Election Day). Ballots are mailed out and Accessible Voting Units (AVUs) are available at voting centers.
  • October 31 Online and mail registrations must be received 8 days before Election Day.
  • November 8 Deadline for Washington State voter registration or updates (in person only).
  • November 8 General Election
