The Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) invites all certificated P-12 educators in Washington state to complete the following Beginning Teacher Knowledge and Skills Survey: https://forms.office.com/r/JUSMrGpyGD (closes April 29th).
This survey seeks input from P-12 educators on what beginning teachers should know to be prepared for the classroom. It follows a four-part listening session series, during which PESB received input from practicing educators on what all teachers should know. During these sessions, the following three topics were explored in depth: 1) media literacy and emerging technologies, 2) social-emotional learning, and 3) culturally-responsive teaching.
The information gathered in this survey will be compiled and summarized for legislators as an appendix to the System Transformation Report (PESB website, 2024 Reports).
