In many counties of WA State, the Dept of Ecology & local county health will provide specialists to offer free, hands-on assistance specifically to businesses (such as schools) that qualify as small quantity generators (SQGs):

  • Spill prevention practices.
  • Best management for dangerous waste and chemical storage and disposal.
  • Ideas to reduce waste.

They have a cost reimbursement program available for schools that will reimburse up to $500 for things like:

  • Storage cabinets (Acid, flammable, etc.).
  • Testing unknown chemicals.
  • Disposal of legacy chemicals.
