To meet the statutory requirement for private schools to record annual attendance, private schools report to OSPI how many students they serve by grade. (RCW 28A.195.060) The data collected is also critical for advocacy. Thank you for your efforts to get this work completed.
On October 1, an email will be sent to the school leader with a link to the Enrollment Report, also accessible on the State Board of Education Enrollment Reporting webpage.
What’s New This Year
The report has been streamlined.
- Race and Ethnicity Section: Now in an Excel-style format for faster, more consistent data entry.
- Other Programs Section: Schools with additional programs will now report the number of full-time Washington resident students enrolled in extension programs, as well as total preschool and online enrollment.
How to Prepare NOW
- Preview a sample of the full report here: Sample Enrollment Report (PDF).
- Download a practice Excel enrollment worksheet for each of your campuses. This worksheet is designed to help you gather data for the totals enrollment and student demographic data section only (other program numbers will be entered directly into the online form).
- Locate your school’s login credentials (head of school email address as reported to State Board of Education and school building code).
Once your worksheet is complete, simply transfer the numbers into the online system when the form opens on October 1.
