Getting It Write: Student Handbooks with Schwartz Hannum PC

Student/family handbooks must serve many functions: provide key logistical information, set out social and academic expectations, articulate the school’s history and culture, and more. Schools should carefully consider what to include. Is the handbook consistent with current best practices and legal requirements in areas such as acceptable use of technology, artificial intelligence, and interpersonal misconduct? Does it address mission-critical topics such as re-enrollment policies, students aged 18 or older, expectations for parental conduct, and custody-related issues?
