Families Embracing Anti-Bias Values FREE screening for educators/parents
Thursday, April 24, 6-8 pm at UCDS Interconnection, 5062 9th Ave NE, Seattle. The University Child Development School is hosting a 50-minute documentary about families who intentionally parent with an anti-bias lens. This film raises the voices of multiple families with diverse identities, discussing their hopes, fears, strengths, challenges, and questions as they figure out: What kind of world do we want to create with our children? This is an adult-only event. Doors open at 6 pm, and the program begins at 6:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served—facilitated discussion led by one of the film producers, Debbie LeeKeenan. Hamlin Robinson Learning Center is hosting the final PAT Cohort of the school year – an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow alongside other parents navigating the journey of raising teens. Whether joining in person in Seattle or virtually, this program is designed to provide the tools, insights, and support needed to strengthen relationships, build confidence, and navigate the ups and downs of adolescence. Teaching and Learning About Genocide in Today’s Conflict-Prone World
Saturday, April 26, 8 am – 5 pm. At Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA. This workshop will provide educators in grades 6 – 12 with information, tools, and activities for integrating the study of genocide into curricula. The program will develop opportunities for future workshops, tools, and collaboration: 8 equity hours and a catered lunch. Register HERE (registration closes on April 19).
