Media Literacy in Secondary Social Studies Classrooms
FREE training with Lesley James of OSPI – Register here.
Monday, Dec 2, from 4-5 pm
This presentation focuses on two ways to “add Media Literacy flavor” to middle and high school Social Studies classroom activities. Students can apply their understanding of Media Literacy-related concepts as they read or write about Social Studies content. This will build students’ capacity to fact-check information and investigate the credibility of information sources. Teachers can monitor how effectively students investigate credibility by checking the sources they’re finding for research projects.
