Participants will receive tools and resources to help start or expand a classroom economy with everything needed to take it to the next level in 2025!
From Rent to Roommates – Empowering Students with Housing Knowledge
Register for the December 12 session from 4-5 pm (1 clock hour)
This session will focus on housing, a major component of the average budget and a critical topic given the ongoing housing crisis nationwide. Educators will explore data on the current housing shortage in Washington, gain confidence in leading discussions about housing, and learn how to prepare students for independent living. Lesson topics will include choosing apartments, understanding lease agreements, and effective communication with roommates. Participants will leave with valuable tools and resources to help students navigate these challenges and feel empowered about their financial futures.

Free Literacy Screenings & Educator Workshops

Free Literacy Screenings begin in December
- Free literacy screenings for up to 300 King County students in grades 2-5
- All screening uses the WA state-approved STAR Early Literacy Screening tool
- Screenings are available in English and Spanish
- Along with screening results, families will receive actionable reports to help them advocate for their student’s educational needs
