There may be a need or opportunity for our schools to support families impacted by the California wildfires. Similar to the way Washington private schools opened their doors to students affected by Hurricane Katrina, many have reached out to school leaders to offer placement options should families need short-term or long-term support. Many schools have been affected by the ongoing fires in Los Angeles, and the air pollution and devastation will make this school year challenging. As we know, children do best when they have a safe school to attend every day while their parents and community struggle to regain footing. We are proud of our school leaders for connecting with California school leaders.
