The League of Education Voters hosted a webinar on the use of restraint and isolation. Luckily some of our schools were in attendance to help clarify the difference between private schools and the Nonpublic Agencies cited in The Seattle Times article.
Legislators are lumping private schools into the category of bad actors and writing legislation to create more oversight. WFIS is working around the clock to get private schools out of the bills that require more regulation.
The proposed legislation threatens Approved Private Schools and all private boarding schools. Please let your legislators know you do not support these bills:
SB 5515 puts DCYF in charge of regulating boarding schools
SB 5315 creates duplicative, unnecessary overregulation for private schools.
