The Association of Washington Business Institute is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and seven chambers of commerce across Washington to host a nonpartisan statewide civics competition. The 2024-25 National Civics Bee® encourages young 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.
The portal just opened for schools to support their students in participating.
Here are the details:
- Tuesday, February 4, 2025: Essay Submission Deadline
- February 6-12, 2025: Essay Judging Window
- February 14 – 24, 2025: Finalist Confirmation Window
- Monday, March 10 – Saturday, May 3: Local Bees occur.
- Saturday, June 21, WA State Finals at location TBD
- Fall 2025: The National Championship takes place in D.C.
It all starts with an essay to the 2025 National Civics Bee! The AWB website has the local chambers participating and a video from last year’s competition.
