Yesterday Washington’s Governor Jay Inslee signed the School Choice Washington Proclamation outlining that continuing to improve the quality of education is an issue of importance to our state leaders. The decree cites Washington’s “many different types of public and non-public schools, as well as families who educate their children in the home” and “the many high-quality, dedicated teaching professionals in all types of education environments”.  It goes on the state that “research states that providing children with multiple education options improves academic performance” and notes that “it is important for parents in Washington to explore and identify the best education options for their children.”

This special observance for January 22-28, 2017 as Washington School Choice Week acknowledges the national celebration for “the purpose of raising public awareness of the importance of the effective education options for children”, that millions of citizens across this country recognize for one week in January each year.
