Accounting and Development Support Specialist

Tri-Cities Prep is the only Catholic high school in the Tri-Cities area. Founded in 1994 as a private, independent, co-educational school approved by the bishops of both the Spokane and Yakima Dioceses, Prep welcomed its first class of twenty students in August 1998. It is fully approved by the State of Washington and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Our goal is to admit a diverse student body of young people who will contribute their energy and special talents toward the mission.

Purpose and Scope of the Position
The Support Specialist provides assistance to the school accounting and development offices. This position will be responsible for family tuition contracts, cash boxes for athletics and student life events, accounts receivable, and data entry for accounting and development offices.

Specific Responsibilities
Accounting Office Duties
- Tuition Receivable – processing invoices, tracking payments, reconciling accounts, and communicating with families regarding payments, discrepancies, and collection issues.
- Cashboxes – Work with athletics and ASB groups with event cashboxes. Provide cashboxes and assist groups in proper procedure of counting money. Deposit funds at the bank and reset cashboxes for next time use.
- Tuition Contracts – Assist families with completion of tuition contracts in a professional and timely manner.
- Data Entry – Provide data entry support for accounting office on a regular basis.
Development Office Duties
- Weekly donor reports – Produce weekly donor reports to the development office, tracking donor gifts and pledges.
- Assist with development events – Provide support before, during, and after development events.
- Assist with donor acknowledgments – Assist in a timely manner.
- Data entry – Provide data entry support for development office on a regular basis.

- Able to learn accounting and development software.
- Self-Starter, capable of independent problem solving and decision making.
- Trustworthiness, reliability, willingness to maintain confidentiality and the ability to complete delegated assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to establish cooperative, tactful, effective and harmonious working relationships, ranging from senior management, administration, board members, corporate leaders, faculty, staff, alumni, volunteers and the general public.
- A commitment to supporting the mission and Catholic values of Tri-Cities Preparatory High School.
Qualifications: - Bachelor degree preferred but not required.
- Experience in financial and/or operational management.
- Bilingual in Spanish is desirable but not required.

Evaluation: An annual written and/or verbal evaluation is provided by the President and routine feedback and dialogue regarding performance is provided verbally on a regular basis.
Salary and Benefits:
- 30 hours/week, 12-month, non-exempt position
- Competitive benefits available upon request.
- Salary range – $22-$25/hour. Salary commensurate with experience and education
