The State Board of Education is still waiting on a small number of schools to complete their annual approval applications. This step is sometimes overlooked—especially with spring break and transitions in administrative staff—but it’s essential for maintaining approved status.

So far, 510 private schools have successfully submitted their applications. Of those, at least 267 report offering early learning programs. At this time, only three schools have indicated they will be closing.

As applications are reviewed, Nicole Mulhausen is updating each school’s status on the State Board of Education website. Schools can download the application status tracker(look for the red link midway down the page) to check their progress. Final approvals will be granted at the Board’s June meeting.

REMINDER: The deadline for new school applications is May 12.
