Bright Water Waldorf School is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and warm-hearted teacher, committed to the ideals of Waldorf education, who would like to join a vibrant Waldorf community. Bright Water Waldorf School is an independent school serving students Pre-K to 8th grade with a developmentally appropriate, multidisciplinary, experiential, and academically rigorous education, engaging students’ heads, hands, and hearts. Our home is within the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Washington in Seattle’s Chinatown International District neighborhood. - Who strives to deepen their understanding of DEIB work
Required Credentials:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Waldorf teacher certification or willingness to complete
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Commitment and energy in working with elementary aged students
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues
- Commitment to an equitable, anti-racist, and gender-inclusive environment, evaluation of systemic privilege and oppression, and an openness to personal and institutional growth
- Interest in evolving the Waldorf curriculum for the 21st Century Cultivating Creative Minds, Capable Hands, and Compassionate Hearts
Location: On campus at Bright Water Waldorf School, 1414 S Weller Street, Seattle, WA 98144
Hours: This is a 1.0 FTE position. The hours of the school day are 8 a.m. -3:15 p.m. from Monday to Friday. In addition, teachers attend a weekly college meeting as well as some evening and weekend meetings/events.
Compensation: $51,259 – $93,442 is based on level of education, experience on our salary scale, plus benefits.
