Bright Water Waldorf School is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and warm-hearted teacher, committed to the ideals of Waldorf education and wanting to serve as a substitute teacher for early childhood (ages 1 to 6 years old) or grade school (ages 7 – 14 years old) students. We are a group of dedicated faculty and staff committed to Waldorf principles, mindful land stewardship, and providing our students with opportunities for dynamic learning within an inclusive community.

Bright Water Waldorf School is an independent school serving students Pre-K to 8th grade with a developmentally appropriate, multidisciplinary, experiential, and academically rigorous education that cultivates students’ heads, hands, and hearts. Our home is within the Japanese Cultural Community Center of Washington in Seattle’s Chinatown International District neighborhood. We are called toward a new future and are orienting our school’s evolution toward equity and community. We seek leaders who are excited to be on this journey with us.

Required Credentials:
- Must be 18 years or older
- At least one year of experience working with early childhood (ages 1 to 6) or grade school (ages 7 – 14) children
- Compliance with regulations outlined in the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) and active MERIT account or willingness to create one
- Commitment to equity; anti-racist, gender-inclusive environments; and evaluation of systemic privilege and oppression with openness to personal and institutional growth
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with Waldorf Education or openness to learn
Location: On campus at Bright Water Waldorf School, 1414 S Weller Street, Seattle, WA 98144
Hours: Part Time; Variable hours from Monday – Friday during the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., depending upon shift needs
Compensation: $20.76 – $35.00/hour, depending upon experience
Benefits: Sick Leave – 1 hour for every 30 hours worked
