WFIS and the Washington Childcare Association (WCCA) are working closely together to address serious concerns about the protection of early learning teachers’ personal information. Recent actions have made it clear that the State has not done enough to safeguard this data, leaving many early learning staff — primarily women — vulnerable.
Program directors across the state have voiced deep concern about the risks this poses. There have been troubling reports that members of SEIU 925 have been appearing at early learning teachers’ homes, creating significant stress and fear for staff.
We want to assure you that WFIS is actively engaged in efforts to ensure the safety and privacy of our educators. Alongside WCCA, we are pushing the State to take immediate action to better protect teacher information and prevent further threats to their personal safety.
