This week, the Northwest Association of Independent Schools was approved by the State Board of Education to accredit boarding schools. Barring any new changes in the DCYF licensing rules, NWAIS is now fully positioned to implement its accreditation addendum for boarding programs. The vote was unanimous, due in part to the Executive Director of the SBE conveying the thorough and thoughtful review process of the Boarding School Accreditation Standards Workgroup.
We thank the members of the workgroup who gave their time and expertise to this process, and the leadership at NWAIS, who have created an excellent accreditation addendum to support their Washington schools.
The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) is scheduled to be on the SBE’s agenda for a vote in February.
