PreK Licensing Requirements (HB 2317): WFIS is seeking collaboration with lawmakers to remove licensing requirements for all 4-year-old programs in school settings, creating parity with public school regulations.
Historic Scholarship Funding (SB 5828): WFIS signed in support of full funding for a long-standing scholarship program that helps low-income students attend independent colleges in Washington.
Facilities Mapping (SB 6042): Legislation to standardize school facilities mapping and ensure records are provided to remain accessible to all local law enforcement.
Anaphylaxis Bill (SB 5240): WFIS met with Senator Wellman and is working to ensure trained staff can use an EPIPEN on a student experiencing an anaphylaxis allergic reaction
Statewide Standards for Use of Public Space for Living Bill (HB 2489): WFIS is adding comments about the voiced concern that limiting county/city authority to restrict street camping will put more schools in harm’s way.
