Fran Baum certainly needs no introduction to WFIS educators. The woman who is a rare blend of professional fire-cracker and nurturing advisor is retiring, following more than 40 years with Bell-Anderson, to enjoy the good life on her Renton, WA ranch.
Fran began her career in the insurance business at a time when women were still not taken seriously as professionals, but that didn’t hold her back one bit. Forging new pathways and developing programs specialized to non-profit educational institutions defined her as an industry trail-blazer and trusted resource for many schools and organizations. Her dedication to school communities always felt like being part of the family.
Many educational leaders and professionals came together to celebrate this illustrious woman at Salty’s on March 30th for a luncheon full of laughter, story- telling and a few tears.
