HB 1128, the early learning Workforce Standards Board bill, has been amended to clarify that private school teachers are not subject to the board’s standards.
Despite notable concerns raised by hundreds of stakeholders across the early learning sector, the union SEIU 925 continues to advocate hard for the legislation, and the bill was voted in favor by the Senate Committee on Labor & Commerce and is on the Senate floor.

HB 2257, the Retail Sales Tax bill, has a hearing this morning and WFIS will testify and request the striker that passed out of committee move forward.
SB 5240, the bill on anaphylaxis medications in schools, was amended with WFIS’ suggestions and is moving onto the House Floor.
SB 5828, the bill that supports full funding for the Washington College Grant for students attending private four-year colleges,was passed off the Senate Floor with a vote 41- 7 and has been sent to the House Appropriations Committee.
