WFIS crafted an addition to a boarding school bill that allows schools to use their accreditation status instead of being licensed by the Department of Children, Youth, and Families.
The State Board of Education will finalize the rules on January 24 at 3:00 pm. If you would like to encourage this adoption, there is a public comment period at the meeting for which you need to sign up at the beginning of the meeting (Zoom link). You can also email rulescoordinatorSBE@k12.wa.us anytime before January 24th, 5pm.

After the SBE vote, the PSAC (Private School Advisory Committee) of private school Heads of Schools will confirm the process, and then DCYF will implement it in July 2025.
